WRS comes aboard Luna Rossa
In 2024, with the entry into the world of sailing, WRS lends its innovative philosophy and the search for more advanced aerodynamic solutions for the development of the AC75 dome of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team.
“This new challenge fully reflects WRS’ desire to expand its horizons to the nautical sector, continuing to be at the forefront and bringing our aerodynamic experience beyond the world of two wheels.”
Nicolas Zavoli – CEO of WRS
Cutting-edge technologies
Our production department is completely autonomous and takes care of every phase of the process, from planning to design to final realization.
We use advanced technologies, including precision laser cutting, 3D scanners, CNC milling machines and dynamic simulation software.
Thanks to our decades of experience in the world of MotoGP and the use of the most modern technologies, we are able to guarantee excellent quality standards, which distinguish our flagship products, proudly made in Italy.
Looking for the best performance
The continuous search for innovation and investments in new technologies have led us to extend the design of our cutting-edge solutions also for the Nautical sector.
Thanks to the collaboration with the prestigious Luna Rossa team we have further improved our skills, a new challenge in the constant search for performance improvements that make a difference in the race.
Materials
PMMA
PMMA (Polymethylmethacrylate) is a transparent plastic material commonly known as plexiglass, acrylic or acrylic glass.
Main features
Transparency: PMMA is known for its high transparency, with a light transmittance of about 92%, higher than that of standard glass. This makes it ideal for applications where exceptional optical clarity is required.
Impact resistance: Although it is not as impact resistant as polycarbonate, PMMA is still stronger than glass and does not shatter into small dangerous pieces in case of breakage. This makes it a safe choice for applications such as windshields and windshields.
Lightness: PMMA is much lighter than glass, making it ideal for applications where weight reduction is important, such as in motorcycle and boat components.
Weather resistance: It has good weather resistance and UV radiation, which makes it suitable for outdoor use without significant deterioration over time.
Safety: In case of impact, the PMMA tends to break into large unsharp pieces, reducing the risk of injury compared to the glass.
Coloring
We have the possibility to use many color variants and degrees of transparency, from smoked to completely matte finish.
LEXAN
Lexan is a polycarbonate brand known for its shock resistance, transparency, lightness, flexibility and versatility.
Impact resistance: The Lexan is extremely durable, up to 250 times more resistant than glass, ideal for protections and industrial applications.
Transparency: It has good optical transparency, similar to glass, despite being much more robust, often used in protective glazing.
Lightness: Lighter than glass and steel, it offers advantages in terms of weight in structural applications.
Flexibility: The Lexan can be easily molded and folded without breaking, making it ideal for custom projects.
Heat resistance: It can withstand high temperatures without deforming, ensuring stability even in extreme environments.
From 2021 thanks to the new approvals received, the WRS is ready to develop in international markets.
